10 things I bet you didn't know about Changi Airport

a year ago / travel / lifestyle / giveaway

Discovering our awesome Changi Airport + $100 giveaway!

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited by Changi Airport to explore all three terminals in the shoes of a transit traveller.

Our award-winning airport is so, so, SO awesome I was absolutely beaming with pride.

Here's why!

1. The most beautiful gardens

Majestic views of the runway alongside cheery sunflowers at the Sunflower Garden at Terminal 2.

Or if you're departing from T3, check out the world's first Butterfly Garden in an airport - this two-storey garden is home to a 6m waterfall and more than 1000 butterflies!

2. Free Cocktails

If alcohol is more your thing (I know right :raising_hand:), then the newly-launched DFS Wines and Spirits duplex store should excite you.

Where you can get an adrenaline rush from admiring the Dalmore highland single malt scotch whiskey that's going at $350,000 PER BOTTLE - that's practically the price of a HDB flat lah!

Then head to the Long Bar by the iconic Raffles Hotel on the second floor and enjoy a cocktail for FREE (yes, free! for everyone!) - I highly recommend their signature Singapore Sling.

Cute Italian bartender not included, unfortunately.

3. Buy cosmetics and perfumes 40% cheaper than downtown

The Shilla Duty Free Duplex opens this month so you can enjoy over 180 brands carrying over 17,000 items! Including many popular Korean brands.

4. Plaza Premium Lounge

If you're not a frequent flyer member, you can still enjoy lounge facilities at the pay-per-use Plaza Premium Lounge located at T1 that's open 24 hours.

Rest comfortably with an unparalleled view of the runway complete with shower facilities, massage and nail care services, complimentary Wi-Fi and good food! The laksa I had was very legit.

5. iShopChangi

I'm pretty impressed with this actually.

At, you can make your purchases online and then collect it at the airport before you fly. I tried it out and it really has EVERYTHING - I ended purchasing the most random combination of sugar-free chocolates and body moisturizer haha.

There's one collection counter at every terminal!

6. Incredible dining options

I often dread eating at airports when I travel because it usually means lousy food at ridiculous prices.

But Changi Airport actually offers a wide variety of GOOD dining options such as Ippudo Express, Poulet, Dian Xiao Er and even Hard Rock Cafe.

My favorite's French baker Paul's located at T3...

Because. Chocolate. Tart.

7. Movie Theatre

Not just one, but TWO movie theaters located at T2 & T3 screening blockbusters 24-7. You can check out the schedule here - I spotted quite a few favorites such as Fast & Furious, X-men and even Despicable Me 2.

8. The Slide @ T3

Not for the faint-hearted, this world's tallest slide in an airport stands at 12 metres high (4 storeys tall) and reaches speeds of up to 6 metres per second.

I obviously didn't dare to try. Haha.

9. Game like a pro

There is also an Entertainment Deck at T2 with Xbox and Kinect stations and errr, several computers that was practically a LAN shop in itself.

Next time we fly, I'm gonna deposit the husband here while I do my duty-free shopping hahaha.

10. Be one million dollars richer

Like for real.

You can literally Be a Changi Millionaire simply by spending $30 either at the airport itself or iShopChangi to qualify for a chance at this exciting lucky draw.

And now for the most important part of my post,

I'm giving away S$100 worth of Changi Dollar Vouchers that you can use both in AND out of the transit areas i.e. you can go and paktor at Itacho Sushi or buy more body moisturizers like me hehe.

To qualify, simply:

  1. Follow me on Facebook
  2. Like & Share this post on Facebook
  3. Leave a comment telling me how you'd spend this $100!

I'll pick the winner on 28 September :)

Good luck have fun xx
