Festive noms at my favourite-est hotel!

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport has and will always matter a lot to me. It is where the boy proposed to me and where we have always returned for our anniversary staycations... we almost wanted to hold our wedding there!

We've always thought highly of the food at Crowne Plaza (seriously, they have one of the best buffet dinners around!) and so, when Carrie invited me to their Christmas Media Tasting, I was very very very excited about it!

Here's what we had!

Most of the items are from their AZUR FESTIVE BUFFET (more details later!) while some will be available from their Festive Takeaways which I will also mention about!

Festive Apple and Pomegranate Salad with Crushed Pecan Nuts

Chopped Salad with Smoked Turkey Ham and Cheddar Cheese

Pan Seared Scallop with Warm Butternut Squash and Arugula Salad

Prime Rib Eye of Beef ($ 255 +)

Seasoned with Provencal Herbs, Truffle Salt and served with Pommery Mustard Sauce

This is from their Festive Takeaways menu! Honestly, this was SUCH a food orgasm I highly recommend you get it for your dinner parties... especially for those that you have VVIP guests to impress ;)

Festive Baked Turkey with Angelica Root ($ 165 +)

I was really looking forward to the turkey because really, what's Christmas without turkey?

Also from their Festive Takeaways menu, this turkey comes with sweet corn, mei cai and blood sausage stuffing, served with cranberry & orange marmalade and natural jus.

To be honest, I was expecting the taste to be a little funkyyy cause afterall, we're talking about corn WITH mei cai?! But gosh, everything went soooo well together, this is the bomb diggity of all turkeys.

And, it wasn't dry at all! (Very unlike all the other turkeys I've tried.) In fact, the flesh was sooo soft, juicy and fragrant... mmmm!

Buttered Winter Vegetables

Sweet Potato and Marshmallow Gratin

This is from their Festive Buffet but it's soooooo good I wish it'd be made available for takeaways! It reminded me of this particular dessert I had in Japan... so warm, sweet and comfort food-y. I loved the play of textures and how the sticky, melted marshmallows complemented the fragrant sweet potatoes.

Yuzu Infused Log Cake ($ 62 +)

I was commenting to the other bloggers that yuzu is like THE flavour of the year and one replied that you know it has reached critical mass when you see it as a flavour for mainstream fruit juices at your local supermarkets :joy:

Offering a refreshing twist to the famous French Yule log cake, the Yuzu Infused Log Cake is layered with Meringue Sponge, Caramel Crunch and Yuzu infused Valrhona Dulcey Chocolate. The Valrhona Dulcey Chocolate gives a creamy and toasty flavour while the yuzu lingers on the palate.

Eggnog Panna Cotta

For Classic alternatives, the Ispahan Macaron ($62+) is a renowned dessert that will give you a flavourful burst in your mouth and the traditional Bûche de Noël ($55+) is layered with Almond Cocoa Sponge, Premium Dark Chocolate and Hazelnut Ganache.

Prices start from $ 42.00 ++ for lunch and $ 60.00 ++ for dinner.

The husband and I will be booking ourselves a staycation (99.99% sure unless he gets activated for duty which is also unfortunately very likely) at Crowne Plaza and celebrating Christmas at Azur so let me know if you'll be there too!
