OUR TRIP TO KL!

Weekend getaway to KL!

So over National Day, the boy and I, like everyone else, took off for the longggg weekend!

Not exactly one of those fancy destinations, but we had so much fun eating our hearts out and Shang was such an amazing stay!

DAY ONE

small

Mandatory camwhoring at Changi Airport… but the boy every frame also the same expression lol.

small

OOTD :) Mint x florals (dress from ClubCouture) and my trusty flip flops for a flight/ vacation.

After a short 45 minutes flight, we arrived in KL! We decided to put up at the Shangri-la after raving reviews online and after all, it was awarded Best Luxury Hotel in KL ;)

small

The very spacious hotel lobby/ lounge which was super comfy for afternoon and late night bubbly.

small

I have to rave about the amazing fruit platter in our room! You know how hotels usually just give something like 1 banana, 1 orange and at most, 1 apple too? We were pleasantly surprised to see this…

small

A whole freaking assortment o.O This is already less 1 plum and 1 apple (which I had greedily chomped down before I took this picture lol).

small

We nua-ed for a while in the super comfy hotel room and after 2 movies, we finally decided to head to the Lemon Garden Cafe in the hotel for dinner. Was told that it was one of the best buffet spreads in KL we thought that it should be as good, if not better than The Line at Shang Singapore.

But because it was also a long weekend in KL (Hari Raya), the restaurant was full :( We didn’t think it was necessary to make reservations :(

small

So we just ate around the hotel. Go all the way to KL to eat T.G.I Friday’s lol.

small

Largely cause I was humji and didn’t want to go anywhere further since it was already quite dark and with the recent shootings going on…

And that’s the end of Day One :)

DAY TWO

Day Two we woke up a little earlier for breakfast - I lovvveeeee hotel breakfasts - and OMG best. breakfast. experience. ever.

These were bakes I wanted to eat but couldn’t find any space in my tummy for :(

small

The juice bar. You could just kill me then and I’ll die happy already.

(BTW these pictures were taken very discreetly with my iPhone cause I was very paiseh to use my camera when everyone was having atas breakfast.)

CHOCOLATE FOUNTAINS for breakfast is the best idea in the worldddddd.

small

The boy’s 2nd or 3rd plate…

I got very excited over the porridge section. I love congee with various preserved condiments. Major comfort food!

These pictures only show 30% of the spread available! There was SO MUCH MORE - eggs station, lots of fruits, pastries, soups and stuff like sausages, baked beans, bacon, ham and an insanely wide variety of jams etc. I felt like I had died and ended up in foodie heaven.

And this is only breakfast at Lemon Garden. Can’t imagine how awesome dinner would have been!

small

Then we went back to the room and watched another 2 movies I think and I then very reluctantly agreed to get out of the very comfy bed and we went to KLCC to walk around a little and eat a lot.

Attempted to do a little shopping after all the binge eating but the crowd was really getting to me so we took a stroll back to the hotel.

small

I didn’t expect us to have space for dinner, but what’s a holiday without room service? That’s The Avengers on the telly btw :p

Chocolate milkshake for me, butter chicken masala for him. Both were very good but the BEST dish there was the complimentary bread basket lol. The rolls came hot and were soooo fluffy on the inside and went amazingly well with the accompanying butter but were good on their own too. Totally worth cheating on my low carb diet for.

Okay I’d wanted to blog about the entire trip but I’m kinda tired now and have to get back to work.. so I’ll stop here and will get on to Day 3 next :D

Have a great week ahead peeps xx
