This small island nation is the most religiously diverse country in the world. With varied religious beliefs come many different cultural backgrounds, traditions, and holidays. Singapore is so diverse that it has four official languages: English, Tamil, Malay, and Mandarin. While you're in Singapore, you can visit many different places of worship like temples, synagogues, mosques, and even cathedrals to experience a breadth of different religions.
So. Much. Food.
An incredibly diverse culture leads to a pretty unique culinary scene, too. Singaporean food is influenced by a few different regions, including Malaysia, China, India, and Thailand. As you embrace the mix of religions and cultures, you'll often find that the best places to eat are at hawker centers, which are similar to the food courts in malls. Hawker centers define the food culture in Singapore, offering a wide variety of flavors and dishes.
Singapore is just over 250 square miles, and getting around couldn't be easier. Public transportation covers the entire island, so make sure you plan to stay at an InterContinental Hotels Group hotel near one of Singapore's transit centers. You'll most likely use the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) for your transportation around the island. The MRT is divided into five colored lines that run from 5:30 a.m. till midnight. Fares will cost you around S$2 for a single trip, or you can go for a day pass for around S$10.

If you're looking for a vacation hot spot with incredible nightlife, Singapore is the place to be. You can find various clubs, concerts, festivals, and rooftop bars like 1-Altitude, which offers patrons a panoramic view of Singapore from a height of over 800 feet. The nighttime views don't stop there, either. Check out places like Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, complete with an infinity pool and observation deck that give way to some breathtaking views of the city.
Nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts are also welcome in Singapore. Hiking trails, botanical gardens, and nature reserves are just a few of the outdoor experiences you'll find here. One of the more noteworthy places to visit is the collection of gardens at the Gardens by the Bay. Here you can find rare and exotic plants, vertical gardens known as Supertrees, and various sculptures that'll pique your interest. If you're in the mood for a hike, definitely visit places like MacRitchie Nature Trail and Reservoir Park, where you can look out from a suspension bridge that floats 750 feet in the air.
