Checking out the quaint Purvis Street enclave with HotelQuickly!
A while back I did an Instagram takeover for HotelQuickly and I HAD SO MUCH FUN!
I spent a glorious weekend at the ultra-chic Adonis Hotel (yes, it's owned by the established local beauty spa group) in their all-inclusive Artist Suite (which came well-stocked with their in-house Adonis Beuaty toiletries!)
Nestled in an all-white 6-storey heritage shophouse, what I loved most about this spacious 38sqm suite is the immense privacy. The entire 6th floor is all yours! From the intimate private living area at the lift lobby to the balcony’s mini garden and outdoor bath offering a splendid view of the CBD skyline - there’s no reason not to pamper yourself.
I also had a great time exploring the Purvis Street neighbourhood where the hotel's located at - there's no lack of food options and watering holes... I couldn't decide between the Divine Bar at Parkview Square (also known as the "Gotham Bar" cause of its resemblance to Gotham City in the Batman comics) and the nearby Raffles Long Bar for its legendary Singapore Sling or the good ol' Garibar by Garibaldi for its signature caipiroska.
Dinner options wise... again, I was torn for choice (Hungrygowhere listed 3960 (!!!!) restaurants) and we eventually settled on First Thai - this authentic Thai restaurant that made me feel like I was transported right to Bangkok!
The padthai packed a mean wok hei and the other dishes I strongly recommend will be the yum mamuang (mango salad), tom yum talay (seafood) and pad krapow (Thai basil pork). Their Thai milk tea is a must-order too!
(And no, I did NOT spend all my Thai lessons just learning about food....I swear!)
We ended the evening at Bras Basah Complex because who knew it would make such a IG-worthy spot when night falls?
Very Wong Kar Wai feel, no?
