Calories well-spent on Parisian pastries.
Antoinette used to be one of my favourite brunch haunts - I frequently visited the Mandarin Gallery outlet cause I like how it's quietly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city (the irony considering that it's right smack in the middle of Orchard Road lol) and my ideal Sunday usually involved their carbonara gnocchi followed by a cake (or two) and ending the afternoon with a good movie next door at Cineleisure.
This is my first time visiting the Penhas Road outlet and I like the quaint, Parisian feel of the cafe but more importantly, I LOVE their desserts.
The strawberry shortcake was light and fluffy, with a hint of vanilla and my ultimate favourite is the matcha pop - the cake was SO rich and dense and the chocolate brittle coating, absolutely divine.
(Not sure if it's an outlet issue but the mains I had here can't compare to what I used to get at Mandarin Gallery... so I will suggest you skip the mains and save space for more desserts!)
This visit is actually part of the Kenwood Chef Sense challenge where I am supposed to recreate one of Antoinette's cake or pastry... I can't wait to update soon how THAT goes.
Wish me luck!
