My favorite cleanser OF ALL TIME!
Hello! I'm back with more Cetaphil updates!
You guys remember how I had mentioned that I used to suffer from teenage acne and I've been using the signature Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for 16 years now?
Well, this product has been their best-seller since 1947 and is often recommended by dermatologists and doctors for its mild, non-irritating formulation that soothes skin as it cleans. In fact, it's so gentle it can even be used on babies.
Designed specifically to work for all skin types (I have combination and extremely sensitive skin), its mild, soap-free formula cleanses without irritation and doesn't strip skin of its natural protective oils or emollients - so you don't get that tight feeling which is actually BAD! Such “squeaky clean” feeling just means that you're probably over-cleansing your skin and have stripped away the protective barrier that keeps your skin moisturised and healthy and made it more susceptible to dirt, bacteria and free radicals that can damage and cause skin problems!
I use this cleanser both in the morning and at night and it can be used with or without water.
Directions for use without water: Apply a liberal amount of cleanser to the skin and rub gently then remove excess with a soft cloth.
Directions for use with water: Apply cleanser to the skin and rub gently. Rinse.
A little tip: Always clean your hands before you start any skincare regime. Using a hand sanitiser or washing your hands thoroughly can make a big difference in the long run!
In the morning, I like to use it with water so it feels more refreshing and I like how it also moisturises without leaving residue that can clog pores.
Sometimes, my skin can get quite irritated due to my constant sun exposure (e.g. my recent Bali trip when I spent wayyyyyyy too much time under the sun) and from trying out new products that are not suitable, and this is the cleanser that I always turn to in times of distress. I'll use JUST this cleanser and their moisturiser and usually within a day or two, my skin will be less irritated and the affected areas less inflamed / red.
As for evenings, on days that I apply little makeup or just sunblock, I like to use the cleanser as a light makeup remover by rubbing it gently all over my face and then wiping it off with tissue or cotton pads before double cleansing again with the same cleanser and rinsing it off this time round.
Also, be sure to pat your skin dry instead of wiping it to avoid tugging it! The texture of the towel together with the force of wiping your skin can cause unnecessary irritation.
I have recommended the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser to SO many people over the years simply because it works and it comes at a very reasonable drugstore price tag too.
It is seriously little wonder why it has won so much praise and loyalty from beauty industry insiders and healthcare practitioners alike!
By the way, remember the video I have been talking so much about? Hahaha. Well, I can finally tell you now that it is for their Commit to Good Skincare campaign and I absolutely cannot wait to share it with you in my next post - you guys watch this space!!!
