Flora's Friday Favourites #17

First of 2017! Woohoo!

Hi friends!

How has your 2017 been so far? I'd think that my year has gotten off on a fairly decent start... had a couple of meetings and keeping my fingers crossed here, but I think we've successfully managed to sign a couple of clients on for the new project I've been working on.

I've not felt so driven in a long while. As you guys know, I pulled out of two businesses last year. And tbh, for the longest time, my identity has always been tied to the fashion biz and I went through a sorta identity crisis lolol as to what I want to do NEXT with my life. I mean... I'm not exactly old but I'm no spring chicken either and when friends tell me "wah your blogging lyfe going quite well ah"... to tell you the truth, I actually get quite embarrassed. Because it is NOT what I want to do SOLELY for a living. I write in this space because I LIKE sharing about my life (in a narcissistic sorta way) and while I also advertise certain products, they are first and foremost, brands that I personally trust and use and want to work with. So while it is good that I earn some money (let's call a spade a spade here) sharing about things I love, I don't define myself as an "influencer". Sure, I might have some influence over some people (namely my 2-year-old nephew who still lets me boss him around)... I feel that my life can be more fulfilling if it's not just limited to what I do online but offline as well.

Mother long story, but yah, you get the drift.

This chendol soft serve from Overrun at Arab Street! Possible the best ice cream I've had this year (hahaha), but it's sooooo good with all that thick creamy ice cream, chendol dollops, gula melaka and desiccated coconut. I can't remember how much I paid for it but I think it's like $7 tops? Definitely worth it for THAT amount of ice cream and the opportunity to revisit our childhood Mr Softee memory.

I know a timepiece isn't a dress exactly but what the frock? Haha.

I've started wearing the watches from Daniel Wellington's MEN's collection because I really like how the bigger faces make my small wrist look EVEN smaller. I also like how their minimalist designs go well with most of my outfits and add some androgynous edge to my otherwise very girly wardrobe. Don't forget to use code floraisabelle to enjoy 15% off!

Avene's Tolérance Extrême Cream! I used to use the Skin Recovery Cream (been through tubes and tubes of that) after I found out that it's the makeup artists' fashion week's favourite, but I wanted to try something more hydrating and so far, no regrets! Its rich, non-greasy texture gets absorbed easily by my skin and it moisturises really really well. I think I'll alternate between this and the Skin Recovery Cream when my hormones start acting up.

To be honest, I HATED the food.

Which is why it's not under my favourite food section haha. But, I enjoyed the experience, I like how friendly and attentive my visually-impaired server was and I had a lot of fun trying NOT to think that everything I was eating was actually raw horse meat lol. You can read Smith's more thorough review here and yes, I still recommend you guys check it out if you haven't because it's really an experience like no other.

I might return again in a couple of months since they update their menus quite frequently... and this time round, pray that I'm not served donkey sashimi.

The other day at MY DADDY'S birthday lunch! OHANA MEANS FAMILY... and family means no one gets left behind!
