Flora's Friday Favourites #8

5 years ago / food / friday favourites

Five of my Favourite Finds, rounded up every week!

Woohoo! Lucky 8! :tada:

Not sure if you guys noticed, but I hardly accept food tasting invites these days... mostly cause I have no time and I don't like the feeling of being obliged to post anything on my social media platforms.

BUT! Hajime is a different story haha. This one no time also will make time because 1) it's tonkatsu (have you seen my Insta stories on how many times a week I eat this cause of the boy's undying love for pork cutlets?!) and 2) it's in my hood!!!!!!!!!

myVillage at Serangoon Gardens is my go-to mall (and I'm a little afraid to let out this secret because I don't want it to get crowded!) - if you live in my area you'll know that Nex is INSANELY crowded and myVillage has almost everything I need - from iSTEAKS, FairPrice Finest (24 hours somemore!), Coffee Bean that ALWAYS has seats and ample parking.

I say almost because they didn't have Japanese food (and you guys know how I NEED my Jap food fix) but now that Hajime is there, my life is complete lol. If you have been to Ma Maison, Saboten and the likes, you will realise that the quality of the air-flown pork from Japan at Hajime is on par, if not more value for money since they are priced at less than $20 NETT. I will say go for the premium pork loin for the great balance of fat and marbling that simply melts in your mouth. I also like the sauce of the miso fillet which comes with red wine added for that bit of kick. In fact, I missed it so much that I recently ordered the miso katsu at Ma Maison... only to get disappointed cause it's not as fab as the one at Hajime.

Also highly recommend the roasted edamame for that smoky flavour (I love edamame btw! I can eat them BY THE BAGS!) and the tonkatsu ramen which I heard is the first of its kind in Singapore!

I don't usually wear pants cause of my height, or the lack of it actually lol. But now that I've found these pyjama pants from Uniqlo, I have been wearing them to death. Have them in pink, khaki and grey and I love how they elongate my legs. Gotta pair them with heels though for that pjs-outta-the-house look that's super in trend at the mo.

NARS Orgasm! This is a cult favourite that EVERYBODY knows about hahaha... it's one of those blushes that for years, I'll walk into the department store and leave feeling really bumped that it is somehow too "strong" for my complexion. But now that I have gotten a tad tanner (unintentionally, it's just that I have been running around in the sun so much lately), I decided to try it out for fun one day at Sephora and omg I think I can actually use it now! Plus, you know how I am still in this all-things-shimmer phase, so the amount of glitter in it works perfectly for me.

Rosken Skin Repair High Potency Vitamin E Cream (what a mouthful I know...)

I had picked this up from Watsons after my first Bali trip (remember that one with the SEVENTEEN mosquito bites?!) cause it says "promotes cell regeneration for scarring, stretch marks & blemishes" and I have since continued using it as my body moisturiser because I really like the texture! It simply melts into your skin and doesn't leave a sticky finish. I also like the smell which somehow reminds me of vanilla cake batter?

I usually have my iced latte tall and skinny (like how I'd like my body to be hahahahaha) but for the sake of this photo, because it looks more photogenic to have a venti frap with LOTS of whipped cream (in fact when I asked for more whipped cream, I'm pretty sure the barista was judging me to death lol) and aiya, since so fat already but as well go big or go home right? I had it with extra chocolate syrup and full cream milk.

God bless my waist.
