My daily bedtime routine!
My bedtime routine is very important to me. As my days can be quite hectic as I shuffle from place to place, meeting to meeting, I really value my me-time every night where I can truly unwind my mind and prepare for bed. Because I don't always get the luxury of 12 hours' sleep, I've come to realise that quality > quantity. When you take 30-60 minutes (or even just 15 minutes if you're super busy) to end a long day, you'll most probably end up sleeping better with a calm mind.
Here's my routine!
I usually start with a long, hot bath and it's during this time that I catch up with my reading, choosing either a good book (if I'm feeling intellectual) or yet another fashion magazine (if I'm feeling lazy... which is the more frequent option these days lol).
Then I'll hop into bed, light some scented candles and put on my Spotify 'Songs for Sunsets' playlist and apply body moisturiser. Do you know? You should apply your body moisturiser on moist skin and tap the lotion in to lock in the moisture into your skin.
I'm currently using the NIVEA Skin Delight Oil in Body Milk and I love it! It comes in two scents Glowing Rose & Relaxing Lavender and I alternate between the two - the lavender one when I've had a stressful day and want to calm my senses and the rose one when I feel feminine.
I really like how both scents are not too overpowering. Also, if you want to make your perfume last longer, layering this body lotion with your favourite perfume will do the trick. Most people tend to think that layering the two will complicate the scent but on the contrary, this actually helps to complement and bring out the fragrance better (instead of drowning yourself in perfume lol).
The NIVEA Skin Delight body moisturiser is a new nourishing oil in body milk formula that is non-greasy. This mild yet highly effective body moisturiser is extremely hydrating and it gets absorbed into the skin pretty quickly. NIVEA promises smoother & softer skin that lasts for 12 hours after application.
And I'll then conclude my routine with a nightcap - it used to be tea but I've since switched to a glass of red wine since research now says that it's good for cholesterol and the heart haha... but moderation is key!
