Yakiniku in Japan!
Continuing the Japan diaries! :)
This photo post will be entirely about our dinner date at Gyu Kaku! I’m really torturing myself by doing up this post at this time because everything is making me so hungry.
We had yakiniku almost every other day because it’s really the best thing to have in winter. Goes soooo well with beer! I’m sure most of us are familiar with Gyu Kaku - it’s also usually our go-to place for yakiniku in Singapore but it’s wayyyy better in Japan. I don’t know what is it with the beef in Japan but it’s consistently good at every restaurant we go to (must be some special grass they are feeding the cows wtf). The prices were reasonable too for the cuts and quality we were getting (definitely much more affordable than Singapore’s).
We tried the branch in Kyoto and this place ranks as my second favourite yakiniku restaurant in Japan :) 1st place goes to this small family-run restaurant at Kabuki-cho, Tokyo - but thinking back, I think it’s because I really overate at Gyu Kaku 😅
I mean, if you have this in front of you, you’d stuff yourself silly too, right?
Or THIS. :yum: :yum: :yum:
I tried to go low-carb on the trip but failed with this potato salad. Not kidding when I say it’s the best potato salad I’ve had in my life.
Best butter ever. Seriously, what do they feed the cows in Japan?!
Best tea ever. Hahahaha just kidding.
Pretty Nui <3
The boy looking intently at the menu, as usual.
