Snapshots of our wedding!
So we got hitched last Saturday. Married life truthfully, doesn’t feel any different really, but then again the boy told me “Why should it be any different? Things were this good that’s why we got married right?”
To be honest, I’m not as excited about this Saturday’s customary wedding. Maybe it’s because I’ve already had my “dream wedding” or maybe it’s because we’re too exhausted from planning the first wedding. I have a damn bad rash on my face and I’m not particularly bothered (this time last week I was seeing my derm 2 times a week for laser treatments lol) and the boy is eating like he doesn’t have to fit into his suit this weekend. But I’m guessing the excitement will kick in maybe on Friday night? Cause that’s what happened for wedding #1!
Anyway, pictures! :D These aren’t the official pictures from my photographer but what I got off Instagram (#garryflora), Facebook and everywhere else on the internet.
Because we only had 90 guests for this wedding, we did this whole US AT AGE X thing using our childhood photos for table numbers. Cannot replicate this for this Saturday’s banquet haha because we are not even 30 years old wtf.
My best friends in the world who came at noon to transform this pavilion from this to…
THIS. OMG.. love them so so so so so much.
Did away with corsages (cause I honestly think they’re quite ugly haha) and got my bridesmaids an infinity ring each in a super cute macaroon ring box (available from ClubCouture! email [email protected])
My very talented hair stylist, Johnson, did my babes’ hair too :) Will list all my vendors contact at the end of the post.
I think I have enough of tiffany blue for now.
We had a military wedding :)
Wrote our own vows. The boy’s vows were super hilarious yet so touching and he made me cry :/
2 days before the wedding we were slaving over these wax seals to create personalised placecards for all our guests:
100 marks for effort, thank you very much :p
Speeches… all these whilst the boy was still sober. Both the boy and his best man gave wonderful speeches :)
Because we wanted to throw the biggest party of our lives, there were no parents, no older folks, just our friends and a whole lot of alcohol… everyone got so high and happy and things started getting hilariously sexual, dirty and very very fun.
By the time the after party started, the boy was hardly sober.
Our “first dance” which he didn’t remember wtf
I was taking this picture when I saw my husband (HAHA) being carried out of the place because he was way too drunk. Stuck his tongue down his friend’s throat too wtf.
At 4am, the boy puked all over our bed so I had to move him to the other hotel room we got for the swordbearers. SO MUCH TROUBLE to get him into the lift and when we got out of the lift…
ON THE HOTEL CORRIDOR WTF.
A very apt conclusion to our Eat, Drink & Be Married themed wedding I suppose.
He took 2 days to fully recover from the hangover.
We are very pleased with how the event turned out :) At 5pm it started raining though.. a bloody thunderstorm despite me getting a virgin boy to plant a whole bunch of chilis and onions and I was crushed. Threw a mini tantrum to which the boy replied “It’s ok baby! Nothing will stop us from getting wedded tonight!” We had decided to do away with the marquee cause it would make the place very warm and it wouldn’t be as pretty with the fairy lights, lanterns, pom poms and all. Thankfully the rain cleared up by 6pm and it was so nice and cool the entire night :)
Prior to this event, I had a few people asking me how much a wedding at One Rochester will cost and I didn’t want to write about it until the event was over cause I didn’t want my friends to think that I was expecting them to cover the cost of my wedding. The packages offered by One Rochester is customisable depending on your menu, alcohol etc. For us, we paid an average of $295 per head, after taxes and excluding things like the dessert bar, even more alcohol for the after party, decorations and tiffany chairs we specially brought it. Haha. Yes they’re really called tiffany chairs. So financially (to the typical Singaporean mindset), we “made a loss”. But the thing is, when we were planning the wedding, we never ever wanted our friends to pay for our wedding and I think the fun and merriment we got from the event is honestly priceless.
I asked the boy yesterday if he would rather we had thrown a typical combined (family + friends) celebration at a 5-star hotel and we both replied with a resounding NO.
So 9 months of planning… I now feel a sense of loss over the lack of wedding planning haha.
There’s still a bunch of loose ends to tie up for this Saturday’s banquet, which has suddenly boomed into almost 30 tables wtf. A lot more guests, but somehow the boy and I are fairly relaxed and are quite excited about all the cheesy stuff we gotta do - yum seng, march in with the dry ice effect and all that. Oh ya. cut the fake cake too. lol.
I had a real cake for the Rochester wedding lol. Dark chocolate which was super yummy :p
Dessert bar - The Mr & Mrs
I told them the theme of my wedding and how it would complement my photo gallery and they did an amazing job. Set up was wayyyy too pretty and guests were raving about their super yummy cupcakes (I pinched two!) and banana cake pops.
