The #SLHDoesSingapore experience
A couple of months back, I was contacted by Small Luxury Hotels and if you have never heard about them, think of them as your hotel bible the next time you book a holiday. In their words, they seek out the little gems that offer genuine, one-of-a-kind experiences - it could be lashings of luxury at a palatial mansion or barefoot bliss on a desert island, basically the kinda small, independent hotels to give you that perfect Insta-worthy vacation that will leave all your (social media) friends in awe.
In Singapore, the two SLH properties are The Scarlet and Naumi Hotel and as part of an exciting #SLHDoesSingapore experience, a few of us got to enjoy an incredible evening of private dining, interactive cooking demonstrations and of course, lots of amazing food.
Nestled amidst the vibrant Club Street community of creative agencies, specialty shops, boutique spas, trendy restaurants and cafes, wine bars, antique shops and art galleries, The Scarlet Singapore offers an unparalleled experience with its bold, provocative and sensuous decor and detailed aesthetics coupled with furnishings upholstered with Sonia Rykiel, Christian Lacroix, JAB and Pierre Frey velvets.
Recently revamped, the rooms aim to evoke passion and splendour with their luxurious draping, elegant trimmings, plush pillows and lots of natural light.
I particularly like how the hotel feels extremely private and personal which makes it an ideal place for a retreat when you just want to get away from the world. Definitely the perfect place for a romantic staycation!
One of the first - if not THE first - restaurants in Singapore to specialise in truffle dishes, it's all about (you've guessed it) truffles at Casa Tartufo.
Their menu features an extensive selection of pasta, steak and seafood dishes and the recommended items will definitely be the Capesante because, scallops (and truffle) and Tartufata because I'm a huge fan of mushrooms (and truffles... I think you get it by now.)
Don't forget to save space for dessert and while the tiramisu is fab, I'll also suggest to try the truffle gelato - it's the perfect mix of sweetness, creaminess and a tad of savouriness that will have you longing for more.
