Thames Valley Khao Yai

Grand country style architecture, pastoral riverside walks and traditional English tea rooms - I can't believe I'm not in Europe!

The greatest highlight of my recent Khao Yai (Thailand) trip has got to be our stay at Thames Valley!

Thames Valley Khao Yai is an English-style countryside resort inspired by the charms of the green belt running west out of central London along the River Thames corridor.

With its grand country style architecture, pastoral riverside walks and traditional English tea rooms - I can't believe I'm not in Europe!

Just 2 hours away from Bangkok, Keira, Zach and I decided to make Thames our first stop at Khao Yai.

We set off at 10am (to avoid the morning peak traffic) and got there by lunch!

What greeted us as soon as we arrived...

Too happy to be here!

The welcome drink that was served to us - I really like it a lot! It tasted like a Shirley Temple and was the start of many gastronomic delights that were to come our way.

The first was at the Clotted Cream tea room!

The Clotted Cream is a traditional English tea room where you can indulge in a range of fine brews and delicious freshly-made pastries and confections.

They also serve a fine selection of TWG Tea, my favourite being the special blend Thames Garden only available here at Thames Valley.

We got the strawberry panna cotta and cream puffs and they were SOOOO GOOOD!

I particularly enjoyed the strawberries because they tasted so fresh and naturally sweet (none of that horrible sour ones we get back home).

The closest I have tasted to strawberries this good was in Japan and honestly, it's a close tie between the two.

I LOVE my sweets!

Part 2...

And Part 3 :joy:

We would have loved to stay and just chill the afternoon away chatting about politics, Socrates and the world at large but we had to make a choice between spa sessions or pool time... life is so very tough indeed ;)

A wide range of indulgent massages and treatments are available and I liked that they use Dermalogica products! (Instead of some shady brand that you've never heard of in your life...)

So we spent the afternoon spent having our fatigue kneaded away...

I love this shot of Keira!

And then we finally checked into our villa!

I love it when my hotel room comes with a well-stocked free flow mini bar...

Complete with a capsule coffee machine!

Life is good indeed!

That night I had the best sleep of my life.

The next day...

I could stay in the room all day (and night) but we had to get out for breakfast.

I have a thing for hotel breakfasts (eggs! bacon! fresh juices!) and I couldn't wait to see what Thames had in store for us!

Breakfast was at The Castle restaurant.

Love the cosy atmosphere here! They have done up the place to look like a English manor house.

We were in for such a TREAT!

A little private pool time after brekkie while Keira went around on a photoshoot...

Vacation essentials - I love these sunnies from People by People!

My poolview is better than yours!

Set in a magnificent mountain range, Thames Valley offers plenty of natural beauty and quintessentially English way of life inspired by the original Thames Valley area of southern England.

Grand country-side living, gorgeous riverside walks... I could stay here forever!

We honestly can't wait to be back!
